Pinnochio:
Is a brilliant movie to watch. It can have you laughing yet also make you sad. Disney really shines at creating unique and wonderful characters, and this is showed in Pinnochio. You will meet the almost real Geppeto, innocent and curious Pinnocchio, quirky little Jiminy Cricket, and many more. Pinnocchio varies all the time- from cunning Honest John to good hearted Geppeto, from the little boy laughing at it to his parents enjoying it just as much. It varies from the original (check it out here- do not know if it is abridged or not) too. What else is amazing? Much more! Beautifully crafted music, that I expect was played by a real orchestra (or not- I watched a downloaded version, which is from the DVD version) unlike today's digital stuff. Speaking of craft, I totally love the amazing woodwork showcased by Geppetto (aka. the creativity of the cast.) All in all i totally love Pinnochio. The story, animation, music, characters ✓. So go ahead and watch!

The Story
Starts in a woodcutter named Geppetto's house. Little Jiminy Cricket watches as Geppeto adds the finishing touches to his wooden puppet Pinnochio. His cat Figaro and fish Cleo watch as they have fun. Jiminy stays awake long enough to witness a Blue Fairy bestowing life to Pinnocchio, and is named Conscience. She tells them that if Pinnocchio is good, he can be a real boy.

Geppetto is surprised but still delighted to find Pinnocchio alive, and sends him off to school. Curious little Pinnocchio has good intentions about doing the right thing, but falls prey to a fox named Honest John and a stupid cat named Gideon, who are up to no-good. Jiminy ends up watching him become a success, but he doesn't witness the wicked Stromboli locking him up in a cage for fame and money. It's fortunate JC finds Pinnocchio , but unfortunate that the lock is too hard for him. It's truly a life-saver when the blue fairy pops up and says she will help them this time, but ONLY this time.

Meanwhile, poor old Geppetto searches the night for his little puppet, in vain.

JC and Pinnocchio are back on the right track, they're heading home. But once again Honest John and Gideon are going to foil his good thoughts. This time they are sent by a wicked Coachman who will pay them. Pinnocchio ends up being sent off to "Pleasure Island" the place for bad boys. JC finds out and tags along.

At Pleasure Island, Pinnocchio befriends a pool-playing, beer drinking, cigar smoking boy named Lampwick, and they enjoy the island. It's got a building to destroy, and much more. Pinnocchio and Lampwick head off to a quiet pool room, where JC soon finds them and tries to persuade Pinnocchio to leave. Tired of being ridiculed, JC storms off, to see a bunch of boys have turned into donkeys that are being sold! In fact, everyone except Pinnocchio and Lampwick.

So JC rushes back to save Pinnocchio, who is actually becoming a doneky himself. They manage to get away from the island and swim all the way back to Geppetto's house. Unfortunately for them, Geppetto, Figaro, and Cleo have disappeared. A little bird clues them in on where, and they set out to rescue them.

Down under the sea, they find an enormous whale named Monstro, and then it's just a struggle to get back. In saving Geppetto, Pinnocchio is unconscious (or dead? can't tell?). But since he has just proved to be a brave boy (truthful? maybe...) the Blue Fairy brings him to life- skin and all. Pinnocchio and Geppetto get their dream, and Figaro, Cleo, Jiminy Cricket rejoice to end the movie nicely.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs:

Review:
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Is a pretty, sugary sweet, film. As disney's first animated movie, it's animation-hand drawn with technicolour- is pretty revolutionary, and quite similar to what you'd find today. It's detailed down to the last pixel, and those tiny little details (like the way the grass moves when things are moving through it) are what make it just like any movie. The only thing showing it was an old film were it's look- not exactly bright, bold, 3D flash, and the feel of the music and voices. (Do they have a feel anyway? Well, they somehow seemed dusty to me). But that just added to it's prettiness. Enough about that though, the most important thing when it comes to movie is... the story! Even though you have most probably heard the storyline, the silly humour and sweet story keep it interesting. The pleasant songs are great too.

The Movie: The Queen's greatest wish is to be the fairest in the land, and she will do what it takes, even killing her step-daughter the Princess Snow White. On this journey of the two most important characters we also meet the bumbling, silly dwarfs who were the real stars of the show to me. Though this is a princessy movie, the happily ever after is different from modern movies, in the sense that it last's less than a minute and is pretty simple.

You should watch it if: You want to see a princessy movie that is quite pretty to watch. You'll probably enjoy the little jokes and see how well the first ever movie was made! Watch it here.

Thanks for reading this! The next movie on the Disney list is Pinnochio.
